  • A History of Karst Organics

Karst Organics was founded out of a deep connection to Timor-Leste and its coffee-growing communities. Co-founder Stewart first arrived in the country in 2016, working on an educational programme with the Timorese military. A year later, after visiting a farm in Letefoho, he became captivated by the region, its people, and its coffee. This experience led to the creation of Karst Organics, with a mission to showcase Timor-Leste’s coffee and build strong, transparent relationships with local farmers.

In 2018, co-founder Kar-Yee brought her business expertise to the company, helping to establish and expand its operations. With a background in hospitality and a passion for flavour, she naturally took on the role of coffee profiling and quality development. Together, they have built Karst Organics into a company that champions sustainable coffee production, direct trade, and the unique coffees of Timor-Leste.
