  • A History of Caribbean Goods

Caribbean Goods was founded with the goal of making coffee farming in Guatemala fairer for the farmers who dedicate their lives to it. Founder Javier Gutiérrez Abril was born and raised in Guatemala, where he witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by coffee producers—many of whom he grew up with.

From an early age, Javier was driven by a commitment to social change, volunteering with initiatives such as Techo para mi País and Soñar Despierto, as well as supporting orphaned children at Casa Bernabé. Believing that education is key to a better future, he pursued a degree in Engineering at Universidad del Valle de Guatemala before moving to Scotland in 2017 to study Finance at Strathclyde University. It was there that Caribbean Goods was established—built on the idea that coffee should be sourced transparently, with farmers receiving fair pay for their work.

  • Caribbean Goods Core Values

Caribbean Goods is built on the principles of fair pay, transparency, and sustainability. What started with sourcing green coffee from Guatemala is expanding to include other agricultural products from Latin America, always ensuring ethical trade and direct relationships with farmers.

By working closely with producers, Caribbean Goods guarantees that farmers receive fair compensation while customers enjoy high-quality coffee. The company’s commitment to sustainability means supporting eco-friendly farming practices and fostering a more equitable supply chain. With a focus on quality, ethics, and long-term partnerships, Caribbean Goods is reshaping the way Latin American coffee and produce reach the world.
