Bombe Kontema is grown in the high-altitude village of Bombe, Sidama - an area known for its fertile soils, high rainfall, and sunny climate. Sourced from nearby farmers, the coffee is processed at Kontema Station using natural processing.

This station handles up to 450,000kg of coffee per harvest and receives cherry from over 1,000 contributing farmers. The result is a coffee shaped by its environment: humid air, dense vegetation, and slow cherry maturation at high elevations.

Name Kontema Station

Kontema Station is based in the Kontema sub-district of Bensa, Sidama. Owned by Asefa Dukamo Korma, the station handles up to 450,000kg of cherry per harvest and receives coffee from 1,022 contributing farmers. Homes in the village are raised slightly off the ground to protect from flooding, and the community maintains a traditional rural way of life.

The farmers delivering to Kontema typically cultivate small plots, averaging around two hectares each. Agricultural practices are consistent across the group. Daye Bensa Coffee supports these producers not only with cherry payments, but also with a second round of payment post-harvest. Farmers receive training in good agricultural practices, support in compost preparation, and access to improved seedlings.Beyond farming, Daye Bensa has contributed to wider community development — including support for the construction of school buildings.
