The Landrace Blend is a unique coffee born from Hacienda La Esmeralda’s commitment to discovery and innovation. This blend originates from El Velo, the newest of the Peterson family’s farms, established in 2012. The farm is neatly organised into rows dedicated to specific coffee varieties, including the famed Geisha, exotic types like Laurina, Pacamara, and SL-34, and over 400 other coffee accessions. These accessions are part of a long-term exploration of cup quality, disease resistance, and viability. Each year, the top-performing accessions are blended to create the Landrace Blend, showcasing the exceptional results of this pioneering research.

With delicate floral fragrances, a gentle acidity, a candy-like sweetness, and a smooth finish of hazelnut and chocolate, this coffee offers a balanced and refined experience. Crafted with care and precision, the Landrace Blend reflects Hacienda La Esmeralda’s dedication to sustainable coffee production and continuous innovation.

Caldera

Countries of operation Panama

Caldera Coffees, named after the river that winds through the Panamanian town of the same name, was founded in 2018 by two friends, Jaime and Michelle. Both proud Panamanians living in Hong Kong, they realised that local coffee enthusiasts were largely unaware of Panama's rich and diverse specialty coffee offerings. With roots in the lush coffee-growing regions of their homeland, they set out to bridge this gap and share the exquisite flavours of Panamanian coffee with the world.

Jaime's connection to coffee runs deep, with great-grandparents who cultivated coffee in Coclé Province. His fascination with specialty coffee ignited years ago during a visit to the Ruiz family estate in Boquete, before Panama Geisha gained its global acclaim. For Michelle, coffee is woven into her earliest memories, from sharing her dad’s morning brew to visiting Boquete, a paradise filled with vibrant flowers, buzzing bees, and the rich aroma of coffee in the air. While Jaime brought his passion to London with his family in 2021, Michelle continues to call Hong Kong home, and both remain united in their mission to showcase the magic of Panamanian coffee to the world.
