Producer Information

Migoti Coffee was founded by Pontien Ntunzwenimana and Dan Brose, two Burundi born engineers who wanted to make a difference in the community where Pontien was born and Raised.

Together they have built two established washing stations nestled amongst the mountains of the Bujumbura Rural Province. These washing stations help to support a recorded 1,236 smallholder farmers in the region who bring their coffee cherries to be processed by Migoti.

The farms that Migoti Coffee work with are based in the highlands just east of Lake Tanganyika, on the western slopes of the highest mountains in Burundi which form the continental divide.

In order to work effectively and efficiently with the local coffee-growing community, Migoti have divided the farmers into different ‘hills’ / geographical groupings with similar climate and altitude.
