Mio is a distinguished coffee farm located in Monte Santo de Minas, Brazil. As both a producer and exporter, Mio is dedicated to harvesting coffee with exceptional care, ensuring that every bean meets the highest standards of quality.

Farm Overview

Spanning 1,589 hectares, Mio's farm is a blend of innovation and tradition. One-third of the land houses coffee processing and milling facilities, pasture areas, and eucalyptus plantations, which support a thriving bee population. The remaining land is equally divided between coffee trees and a native forest reserve, reflecting Mio's commitment to environmental sustainability. The farm, enriched with ample spring water, prioritizes maintaining and improving water quality.

Unique Terroir

Situated between the Southern Minas Gerais and High Mogiana regions, Mio benefits from two distinct terrains. This unique location imparts a citric acidity and a full-bodied sweetness to the coffee, creating a well-balanced and flavorful cup.

Commitment to Sustainability

Mio dedicates equal land to coffee cultivation and forest preservation, maintaining the natural characteristics of the area. This balance ensures that the local ecosystem thrives alongside coffee production.

Traceability and Technology

Mio guarantees 100% traceability for every crop, every year. Using satellite imagery and advanced tracking technologies, each stage of the coffee's journey is meticulously recorded—from cherry harvesting to processing. This technological approach not only enhances farmworkers' quality of life but also ensures abundant harvests and the highest processing standards.

State-of-the-Art Processing Facilities

Mio's processing facilities are equipped with cutting-edge technology, including:

  • A wet-mill
  • Concrete patios and raised beds for drying
  • Ambient-air drying rotating machines
  • Wood silos and cross-beater hullers
  • Density separators

Further sorting by size and color is achieved using an oscillating screen and an optical-electronic system, ensuring only the finest beans make it to the final product.

Mio is committed to ensuring full visibility and transparency in every step of the coffee supply chain. As a importer for their own coffee, Mio oversees the entire process, providing customers with confidence and peace of mind, similar to buying fresh produce from your local farmers’ market.

At Mio, the journey begins with coffee trees that are planted, nurtured, and harvested by skilled and dedicated farmers. Every decision, from processing the beans using Natural or Honey methods to drying and hulling, is made with precision and care. The farm’s Q-Grader meticulously guides these choices to achieve the perfect cup profile for each batch.

Mio collaborates with Peneira Alta, where advanced sorting technology ensures only the best beans are selected. The coffee is then carefully bagged using GrainPro® technology and shipped to the UK, where it is securely stored at Vollers’ warehouse.

Transparency is at the core of Mio’s operations. Customers can trace the journey of their coffee from farm to cup, ensuring they receive high-quality, ethically sourced beans. Whether you are a roastery, a coffee shop, or a home enthusiast, Mio guarantees coffee harvested with pride and integrity.

With Mio, you gain access to premium coffee and a transparent supply chain that prioritizes quality and trust every step of the way.
