Green Coffee Beans for Santoker Roasters

Green Coffee Beans for Santoker Roasters

Santoker makes connected roasters across a wide range, from the Q20 hot-air sample roaster (100–200g) and the R200 home drum (up to 300g) to R-series production machines of a kilo or more. Most can be run from Santoker's app with a shared profile library. Whatever the size, the coffees here suit sampling and production alike.

  • How much green coffee do I need for my Santoker?

On a Q20 or R200 at 150–300g, a 1kg bag gives you three to six roasts, so 0.5kg and 1kg bags are a good way to explore. On an R1 or R3 production roaster, buy 5kg bags or move to wholesale sizes of 10kg and 20kg for the coffees you roast regularly.

  • Which coffees suit Santoker's roasting styles?

The Q20 roasts entirely with hot air, which brings out clarity in high-grown washed coffees. The R-series drums combine a direct flame with hot air, giving you more energy and control for dense lots and for steering naturals and experimental coffees through development. Pick coffees that suit the machine you're on.

  • Using Santoker's shared profiles with our coffees

Our product pages list origin, altitude, variety and process for every lot, which is what you need to find a matching profile in Santoker's library. Choose a profile written for a similar coffee, roast one batch, cup it, and adjust from there. That's faster than starting from scratch.

Your questions, answered

Can I sample on a Santoker Q20 and produce on an R-series?

Yes, and it's a common setup. Treat the Q20 roast as a guide to how the coffee responds rather than a profile to copy, because hot-air and drum roasters transfer heat differently. Expect to adjust charge temperature and development when you scale up.

How long does a Santoker roast take?

The R200 typically takes 8–12 minutes. The Q20 hot-air sample roaster is usually quicker. Santoker's app shows your rate of rise live, which makes it easier to repeat a roast.

Can I use a Santoker roaster indoors?

The electric Q20 can be used indoors with normal ventilation. The R200 and R-series use gas, so they need proper ventilation and safe gas handling. Follow Santoker's installation guidance.

Which Santoker is best for home roasting?

For home use, the R200 (up to 300g) gives you a real drum-roasting experience, while the Q20 suits sample roasting and lighter profiles. Our home roaster comparison covers how they compare with other machines.

How long do green coffee beans last, and how do you store them long term?

Properly stored, green coffee beans can last up to a year or more without losing quality. To store them long term, keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Airtight containers work best to protect them from humidity and odours.
