Your guide to Aillio Bullet Roasters | R1, R2 & R2 Pro

  • Why choose an Aillio Bullet roaster?

The Aillio Bullet coffee roaster is widely regarded as one of the best on the market — and for good reason. Unlike traditional drum roasters that rely on slower ambient temperature probes, the Aillio Bullet uses infrared bean temperature sensors to read what's actually happening inside the drum in real time. The result is faster response, greater accuracy, and a level of control that serious roasters genuinely notice in the cup. Whether you're roasting at home or running a small production operation, the Aillio Bullet range is built to grow with you.

  • Aillio Bullet R1 V2 vs R2 vs R2 Pro — which is right for you?

The Aillio Bullet R1 V2 is the entry point into the range — compact, precise, and capable of roasting up to 1kg per batch. It's the go-to choice for home roasters ready to move beyond entry-level equipment, and works equally well as a sample roaster in a professional setting. The Aillio Bullet R2 builds on that foundation with an enhanced induction system, improved airflow, and better stability for back-to-back roasts. The Aillio Bullet R2 Pro is the top of the range: 1.2kg batch capacity, a 2300W induction system, FlowSense technology, and a barometric pressure sensor — engineered for professionals who need speed, volume, and batch-to-batch repeatability.

  • Meet Aillio: Innovation at the Heart of Green Coffee Roasting

Aillio is a brand built on a genuine respect for coffee craftsmanship. Since launching the original Bullet, they've become a trusted name among home roasters, micro-roasteries, and coffee labs worldwide. At the core of the Aillio philosophy is empowerment through technology. Every Aillio Bullet coffee roaster is designed to give you the tools to explore, experiment, and master green coffee roasting - whether you're dialling in a light washed Ethiopian or developing a repeatable profile for a natural Brazilian blend. Precision isn't a premium add-on; it's the baseline.

  • Why is the Aillio Bullet the smarter choice for green coffee roasting?

    1. Real-time data and full roast control - Every batch of green coffee behaves differently. The Aillio Bullet gives you real-time temperature readings, roast curves, and responsive controls so you can adjust on the fly and lock in successful profiles.

    2. Induction heating for total consistency - The Aillio Bullet coffee roaster uses induction heating rather than traditional gas or resistive elements, delivering faster response times, more uniform heat distribution, and significantly better consistency.

    3. Compact, yet commercial-grade - The Aillio Bullet roaster is compact enough for a countertop but delivers performance and durability that rivals much larger commercial systems.

    4. Energy efficient by design - All Aillio Bullet models consume less energy than conventional drum roasters - high performance without the running costs.

Where can I find Aillio Bullet roast profiles?

Roast profiles for the Aillio Bullet are available on the RoastWorks community forum - search for threads like "profile recommendations for light/medium roast" to get started. For a guided introduction, our blog post How to Master Roasting on an Aillio Bullet covers the essentials.

What is the difference between the Aillio Bullet R2, R2 Pro and R1 V2?

The R1 V2 is the entry point — compact, precise, and ideal for home roasters or sample work, with up to 1kg batch capacity. The R2 steps up with improved induction heating, better airflow, and greater stability for back-to-back roasts, suited to micro-roasters ready to scale. The R2 Pro is the top of the range: 1.2kg capacity, a 2300W induction system with five additional power stages, FlowSense technology, a barometric pressure sensor, and enhanced cooling — built for production-focused roasting where consistency and repeatability are non-negotiable.

Are there any additional fees?

No hidden fees. We ship all Aillio roasters directly from our UK premises, so there are no customs, duty, or handling charges. Shipping and VAT are already included in the price shown.

What size coffee roaster do I need?

It depends on how much you roast and how often. For personal use or experimentation, a smaller roaster like the Kaffelogic Nano 7 (40g–120g batches) is a good fit. For small business use or larger production needs, the Aillio Bullet R1 V2 (up to 1kg) gives you the capacity to roast efficiently while still accommodating smaller test batches. A useful rule of thumb: divide your weekly coffee consumption by 4 to find a sensible batch size.

What is a roast profile?

A roast profile is a set of instructions that guides the roaster through the roasting process - typically a time-temperature curve, fan speed curve, and power settings that produce consistent, repeatable results.

On an Aillio Bullet, profiles are managed through RoasTime software, where you can build a library of profiles, replay previous roasts, and fine-tune variables batch by batch. On a Kaffelogic Nano 7, profiles are managed through Kaffelogic Studio software, where you can create, save, and load profiles - giving you the same ability to document and repeat successful roasts with precision.

What is the Aillio Bullet R2 Pro price?

The Aillio Bullet R2 Pro is £4,550 at Green Coffee Collective. The R2 is £3,500 and the R1 V2 is £2,950. All prices include UK VAT and shipping - no customs fees, no import duty, no hidden charges.
