  • How Our Seasonal Green Coffee Range Works

Our seasonal green coffee beans rotate with the harvest calendar, with new origins landing roughly every quarter. In Q1 you'll find East African lots from Burundi, Rwanda and Tanzania alongside South American harvests from Ecuador and Peru. Spring brings Ethiopian and Kenyan coffees, while summer and autumn rotate in Central American origins from Guatemala and Mexico, plus Asian lots from India, China and Thailand. Each coffee is bought in a single, limited batch - when stock runs out, we don't reorder until the following year's harvest. It's how we keep quality high and every bag genuinely fresh.

  • Why Fresh-Harvest Green Coffee Beans Roast Better

Green coffee isn't shelf-stable forever. Freshly harvested beans retain more moisture, density and complexity all of which translate directly into better, more predictable roasts. Old crop green coffee can taste flat, woody or inconsistent in the drum, no matter how skilled the roaster. By sourcing seasonally and buying close to harvest, we make sure the unroasted coffee beans you receive are at peak condition - giving you the best possible starting point before the roast even begins.

  • Sourced by Regional Specialists, Not Generalist Traders

Every seasonal coffee on this page comes through an importer who specialises exclusively in their region, not a generalist trader handling dozens of origins at arm's length. Our East African lots come through partners who spend significant time at origin each season. That depth of regional knowledge means better access to quality lots, more honest information about processing and provenance, and a supply chain that works for producers as well as roasters. You're not just buying green coffee - you're buying into a sourcing model built on long-term relationships.

Your questions, answered

What are seasonal green coffee beans?

Seasonal green coffee beans are unroasted coffees bought close to their harvest date, when quality is at its peak. Unlike year-round staple coffees, seasonal lots are available for a limited time only - once stock sells out, we don't reorder until the following year's crop comes in.

When do new seasonal coffees arrive?

We replenish our seasonal range roughly every quarter. East African origins like Burundi, Rwanda and Tanzania typically land in Q1. Ethiopian and Kenyan lots arrive through Q2 and Q3. Central American coffees from Guatemala and Mexico, plus Asian origins, rotate through Q3 and Q4. Sign up to our newsletter to be first to know when new harvests land.

Why do seasonal green coffee beans run out?

We buy each seasonal coffee in a single, fixed batch - the quantity available reflects what we were able to source from that harvest. We don't top up mid-season or substitute with inferior lots to maintain availability. When it's gone, it's gone. This is how we keep every bag genuinely fresh and traceable.

Are seasonal green coffee beans better quality than year-round coffees?

Not necessarily better in terms of score, but fresher and freshness matters enormously for green coffee. Beans bought close to harvest retain better moisture content, density and aromatic complexity, all of which affect how they behave in the roaster and what ends up in the cup.

What's the difference between seasonal, staple and Rare & Special coffees?

Our range is split into three tiers. Staples are year-round coffees we work hard to keep in stock consistently. Seasonal coffees rotate with the harvest calendar and are available in limited quantities each year. Rare & Specials are limited lots, one-off finds - often a single bag - that don't fit neatly into either category. Once they're gone, they won't be restocked.

Which origins can I expect to find in the seasonal range?

Our seasonal range draws from across the coffee-producing world — East Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda), Central America (Guatemala, Mexico, Panama), South America (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil), and Asia (India, China, Thailand, Timor-Leste). What's available at any given time depends on where we are in the harvest calendar.

How should I store seasonal green coffee beans once they arrive?

Keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, moisture and strong odours. An airtight container or the sealed bag they arrive in works well. Properly stored, green coffee beans stay fresh for up to 12 months - though with seasonal lots, we'd always recommend roasting sooner rather than later to make the most of the fresh harvest.

Can I buy seasonal green coffee beans in small quantities?

Yes - all our seasonal coffees are available from as little as 0.5kg, making them accessible for home roasters as well as small-batch professionals. You can also mix and match 0.5kg and 1kg bags across different origins to build your own bundle, with discounts kicking in when you buy three or more bags.

Who sources your seasonal green coffees?

Each seasonal coffee is sourced through an importer who specialises in their specific region - not a generalist trader. Our lots come through partners with deep, long-standing relationships at each origin. This regional depth means better access to quality lots and more transparent information about each coffee's provenance and processing.

Do you offer wholesale or larger quantities of seasonal green coffee?

Yes - as well as small quantities for home roasters, we supply seasonal green coffee beans in larger volumes for roasteries and commercial buyers. If you're looking for quantities beyond what's listed on the page, get in touch and we'll discuss what's available and what's coming in the next harvest window.
