Description

The Kaffelogic Nano 7e is our compact electric roaster, supplied with an EU plug and compatible with C, F, and E sockets. It’s designed for small batch roasting - making it useful for home roasting, cupping samples, or testing coffees before scaling up.

It runs with a built-in set of roast profiles, so you can get started straight away. When you want more control, you can adjust heat application, airflow and development using Kaffelogic Studio. Profiles can be saved, shared, and repeated with good consistency, which makes it easy to compare how different coffees respond. The machine gives clear data back, so you can see how adjustments shape flavour.

Because it’s small and self-contained, it doesn’t need extra ventilation or special equipment, and it fits into a kitchen or small workspace without taking over the room. It’s a practical way to experiment with different origins and processing styles, dial in your preferences, and learn by tasting.

Is the Kaffelogic the right roaster for me?

Kaffelogic Nano 7e benchtop coffee roaster on a kitchen counter

It probably is if:

You want good coffee without turning roasting into a second job. The profiles do the hard part.
You drink somewhere between 100g and 500g of coffee a week. That is one or two roasts, or a handful with the BOOST kit.
You care about repeating a roast rather than chasing a new one every time.
You are short on space. It is about the size of a tall kettle.
You want to sample-roast small lots of green before committing to a bigger buy.

It probably is not if:

You want to learn roasting by hand, with your own control of heat and airflow throughout. A drum roaster like the Kaleido M1 or M2 will teach you more, because you are doing the work rather than the machine.
You need more than about 200g in a single batch. Look at the Aillio Bullet range instead.
You are developing profiles to scale onto a commercial drum roaster. Air roasters and drum roasters behave differently, so a Nano 7e profile will not transfer across directly. It is excellent for deciding whether to buy a green coffee, less so for designing the roast you will run on a 15kg drum.

If you are not sure, book a call with us. We would rather talk you into the right machine than sell you the wrong one.

Smoke, space and where you can roast

It makes about as much smoke as frying food. Barely visible, but you will smell it.

A normal kitchen extractor fan deals with it completely. A weaker fan leaves a pleasant smell of roasting coffee, which some people love and some do not. With no extraction at all, run an air purifier in the same room and roast one batch at a time.

Three things worth knowing before you order.

It can set off a smoke alarm. Better to know now than mid-roast.

It stands 430mm tall with the chaff collector on, so measure under your extractor hood first. Leave 100mm from walls and 150mm from curtains.

Roasting outdoors is not the easy fix it looks like. The roaster is sensitive to cold air and wind, and owners who roast on balconies or in open garages report the occasional aborted roast. Indoors with ventilation is the reliable option.

If you are thinking about using it in a café or a commercial unit, check your fire system first. Kaffelogic advise against using it in a building where smoke detectors are wired to a sprinkler system or directly to the fire service. Plenty of small producers and cafés use these happily, but sort that out before you buy rather than after.

Living above 500m? Run Kaffelogic's fan calibration when you set up. It takes a few minutes, and skipping it can mean beans that do not circulate properly. Ask us if you would like a hand.

What it the Kaffelogic Nano 7 actually like to use

Freshly roasted coffee beans from the Kaffelogic Nano 7e

Weigh out 120g of green coffee, tip it in, put the chaff collector on top and press start. The default profile is called KL Explorer and it is a good all-rounder. If you want it darker, press plus first. Lighter, press minus.

Ten minutes later the roast is done and the machine cools the beans back to room temperature on its own. Lift off the chaff collector, tip the beans out, and you are finished. You can start the next batch immediately.

Every profile runs from level 0.1 to 5.9. Lower is lighter and shorter, higher is darker and longer. Around 2.5 suits filter and 3.0 suits espresso. If your coffee tastes burnt, drop the level. If it tastes sharp or hollow, raise it. One thing the manual does not spell out: the level is relative to the profile, not an absolute scale, so when you switch profiles expect to find your level again rather than assuming it carries over.

Your beans will look slightly less uniform than a bag from a commercial roastery. That is normal for an air roaster, not a fault. Fast air roasting gives you clarity in the cup and a little more visible colour variation. Taste it before you judge it.

Cleaning takes seconds. Brush the mesh disc in the lid after each roast and wipe the outside occasionally. Leave the oils in the roast chamber, they season it. Never touch the temperature probe tip.

Delivery, plugs and what happens if it goes wrong

We ship from our own warehouse in Belfast, to the UK and across Europe.

Choose your plug at checkout rather than leaving it to your delivery address. That matters if you are buying for use in another country or sending it abroad as a gift. The Nano 7e runs on 220-240V. If you need a 110-120V unit for the US or Japan, get in touch first, as that is a different variant.

If something goes wrong, you deal with us. We are the UK and EU distributor, we hold spare parts, and we handle repairs and warranty claims directly. You will never be asked to ship your roaster to New Zealand.

Most problems turn out not to be faults. The two messages people see most are thermal runaway and heat too fast, and both usually mean the beans are not moving properly, which is normally a full chaff collector, a blocked air path, or too many beans for the profile. The fan preview mode built into the machine catches nearly all of these before they happen.

The affordability of this product is a true example of how entrepreneurs can help the industry move forward. I believe this product is an excellent tool for producers who usually don’t get access to the latest technology. With the Nano 7, producers can not only taste their coffees but also cup and discuss the exact same attributes as buyers -something that has been a challenge for decades.

Frequent Questions

Can I use Kaffelogic as a sample roaster?

Absolutely! The Kaffelogic Nano 7 is trusted by professionals, including the labs of specialty coffee importers like Green Coffee Collective. With its ability to roast samples as small as 50g, the Kaffelogic allows you to save, re-use, and modify roast profiles to suit specific needs.

Whether you're working with coffee from varying elevations, origins, or processing methods, the Kaffelogic ensures both consistency and flexibility—essential for accurate green coffee evaluation. It's a powerful tool for professional sample roasting in any setting.

Is Kaffelogic Travel-Friendly?

Of course! The Kaffelogic Nano 7’s compact and portable design makes it perfect for travel. Whether you’re packing it in your suitcase for a weekend with friends or taking it on a coffee sourcing trip, it’s easy to bring along. Roast and evaluate coffees on the go, whether at home, in the field, or directly with farmers.

I have never roasted coffee before. Is this too much machine for me?

No. Add beans, choose a profile, press start. The roaster does the rest and cools the beans down at the end. The built-in profiles are designed to give you a good cup without any adjustment, and plenty of owners bought this as their first roaster. If you want to go deeper later, the depth is there waiting.

What’s the Benefit of 50–200g Batch Sizes?

Roasted coffee is at its peak flavor for just a few days, so it makes sense to roast only what you’ll use in that time. Think of it like grinding coffee—you wouldn’t grind a large batch in advance, and now you don’t have to roast in advance either.

With the Kaffelogic Nano 7, roasting on demand becomes a reality. In fact, it’s quicker to put on a roast than it is to brew a coffee, letting you enjoy fresh, perfectly roasted coffee whenever you need it.

Why does precise control over the roast matter?

Absolutely. You can taste the difference when a roast is done just right—the flavours become vibrant, almost leaping out of the bean.

Roasting is a delicate process. Thousands of chemicals contribute to the coffee experience, many of which are formed during roasting and are sensitive to even slight variations. Just as opening the oven door at the wrong time can ruin a pavlova, inconsistent heating during roasting can disrupt the creation of those flavourful compounds.

When everything is perfectly controlled, the magic happens. That’s why artisanal roasters are so highly valued and why the Kaffelogic Nano 7’s sophisticated control software is essential for producing exceptional coffee, even in an unattended roasting system.

What is a roast profile?

A roast profile is a set of instructions that guides the roaster through the roasting process - typically a time-temperature curve, fan speed curve, and power settings that produce consistent, repeatable results.

On an Aillio Bullet, profiles are managed through RoasTime software, where you can build a library of profiles, replay previous roasts, and fine-tune variables batch by batch. On a Kaffelogic Nano 7, profiles are managed through Kaffelogic Studio software, where you can create, save, and load profiles - giving you the same ability to document and repeat successful roasts with precision.

Does it need special ventilation? Can I use it in a flat?

No special ventilation is needed. It produces roughly as much smoke as frying food. A normal kitchen extractor fan clears it entirely. With no extractor, run an air purifier in the same room and roast one batch at a time. Be aware it can set off a smoke alarm, and that it stands 430mm tall with the chaff collector fitted, so measure under your hood first.
