Panama is the birthplace of some of the world’s most sought-after Geisha, and this washed lot from Paso Ancho captures everything that’s made the region so renowned.

Grown at high altitude in the Volcán region of Chiriquí, this coffee comes from a 10-hectare lot owned by the Franceschi family, who’ve been farming here since 1950. The family’s focus on quality, along with the region’s unique growing conditions—volcanic soil, cool nights, and steady rainfall - allows for slow maturation and well-defined flavour development.

This lot is fully washed, processed with precision and dried with care to highlight the clarity and delicate character Geisha is known for. It’s a coffee shaped by both place and experience, produced in one of the world’s most iconic origins for high-end Geisha.

Finca Carmen was founded in 1950 by Efraín and Carmen Franceschi and became home to arabica coffee a decade later. The farm is located in Panama’s Tierras Altas district - an area known for its elevation, rich volcanic soil, and ideal microclimates.

Now run by third-generation producer Carlos Aguilera Franceschi, the 10-hectare lot continues the family’s legacy with a focus on quality-driven varietals and careful cultivation. The farm has become known for its commitment to varietal separation and process experimentation, while staying rooted in the traditions that built its reputation.

The Geisha planted here benefits from the high altitude and cool nights of the Chiriquí highlands, conditions that have helped put Panamanian Geisha on the global map.
