  • About Edelmira

Edelmira's model is built on the long-term development of coffee production in Chiapas’ smallholder communities: stronger producer capabilities, higher coffee quality, and direct access to international markets.

  • Beneficio Edelmira

Their operation is built around Beneficio Edelmira, an agronomy, processing, quality, and training center located at 1,600 masl, at the heart of our coffee-producing communities. It serves as:

    • Processing center for coffees from our producer network
    • Quality laboratory for evaluation and lot development
    • Training center for producers already working with Edelmira, and those applying to join

Their team works alongside producer communities throughout the production cycle, providing technical assistance, financing solutions, and support in cultivation, harvesting, processing, and quality management. They also invest in the infrastructure surrounding these communities, including primary school facilities, satellite internet connectivity, and road maintenance. At the heart of their support is youth, and enabling the next generation of farmers to see a future in coffee.

  • Agroforestry & Biodiversity

Edelmira coffees are grown under agroforestry systems in the buffer zone of the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, one of Mexico's most important areas of biodiversity.

Every producer cultivates coffee organically, within a diverse forest ecosystem. Coffee grows alongside native trees and vegetation, preserving shade, biodiversity, soil health, and the natural resilience of the canopy.

This production model, combined with a direct, controlled supply chain, significantly reduces the carbon footprint of our coffee value chain.

  • Beyond Chiapas

Alongside their own production, Edelmira support exceptional fellow producers from across Mexico, providing the export, import, logistics, and commercial infrastructure required to reach European and UK roasters.

This allows them to bring microlots from remarkable producing regions such as Oaxaca, Veracruz, Hidalgo, and Colima to the international specialty coffee market.

Different producers. Different regions. The same standard: excellence, quality, reliability, and transparency.

  • From Mexico to the World

Edelmira maintains direct oversight across the entire supply chain, from production and processing through export, import, and final delivery. For roasters, this means consistent quality, cost control, reliable supply and full traceability, year after year.

How we package
our coffees

Barrier packaging designed for specialty coffee.

We use Ecotact bags because they offer high-barrier protection against oxygen, moisture, and external contaminants. This helps preserve the quality, aroma, and flavour potential of your green coffee during transport and storage. They're trusted by top producers and importers worldwide.

Heat-Sealed for Maximum Protection

Every bag is professionally heat sealed at our warehouse to lock in freshness. This creates a secure seal that prevents exposure to air or humidity - keeping your green coffee stable, even over long periods.

Convenient Resealable Zip Closures

Once opened, each bag has a resealable zip to help you store and protect the rest of your coffee between roasts. It’s a simple way to reduce waste and maintain freshness - especially helpful for home roasters or sampling.

Portion sizes for any roaster.

Whether you're roasting at home or running a production line, we've got a size to suit. Choose from 0.5kg, 1kg, or 5kg bags - all packed with the same level of care. Smaller volumes make it easy to try new coffees without the commitment.

Responsible packaging choices.

Our bags are made from Graded 7 multi-layer recyclable plastic. While they may not go in your home recycling bin, they are accepted by specialist facilities. More importantly, they reduce waste by dramatically extending the shelf life of your green coffee.

Your questions, answered

Who are Edelmira?

Edelmira is a specialty green coffee exporter and importer established in 2021, sourcing certified organic coffees exclusively from indigenous Tzeltal smallholder farmers in Chiapas, Mexico. Their teams are rooted in the local farming communities they work with, and they manage the full supply chain from farmgate to international delivery.

Where does Edelmira source their coffee from?

All of Edelmira's coffee comes from Chiapas, Mexico - specifically from the Fraylesca and Los Altos regions, sourced directly from small organic farmers and through financially supported partner cooperatives. Their farming communities are located in the buffer zone of the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve.

How does Edelmira approach quality grading?

Every lot is graded by Edelmira's panel of independent Q Graders to Coffee Quality Institute standards. The panel assesses cupping notes, recommends roasting applications, and selects which lots are offered to clients.

What coffee grades does Edelmira offer?

Edelmira offers two grades: Community Lots (80–85 SCA points), sourced from partner communities or cooperatives and available in higher volumes; and Microlots (85+ SCA points), from specific high-altitude plots in limited quantities.

How does Edelmira support the farmers they work with?

Edelmira's field technicians provide year-round technical assistance, tools, and training to their partner farming communities - with all communication delivered in the Tzeltal indigenous dialect. Farmers receive fair compensation with a direct reward tied to product quality. Edelmira also financially supports partner cooperatives and provides export and logistics infrastructure to other Mexican producers seeking specialty market access.
