  • Are Aillio the best roasters?

Aillio roasters are widely regarded as some of the best on the market, thanks to their innovative infrared technology, which eliminates the need for traditional, slower temperature probes. Their exceptional flexibility, accommodating a range of roast sizes and user needs, also sets them apart, making them a favorite for both home and professional roasters.

  • Which is the best Aillio roaster for me?

The R1 is ideal for home roasters ready to step up to a more advanced yet affordable roaster. For those seeking a reliable and affordable roaster without the extra frills, the Bullet R1 stands out as the top choice for a 1kg capacity machine. The R2 Classic suits home roasters seeking upgraded technology or professional roasters in need of a reliable sample roaster. For those wanting greater control, larger batch capabilities, and higher power input, the R2 Pro is the perfect choice—especially for professional roasters working with high-end nano lots.

What is the difference between the Aillio Bullet R2 Pro and the R1 Classic?

The Bullet R2 Pro builds on the R1 Classic with significant upgrades, including a 1.2kg capacity, 2300W induction heating system with five additional power stages, FlowSense technology, and a barometric pressure sensor. Other enhancements include a brighter roasting light, customisable sounds, improved cooling, and a hybrid OLED control panel for more precise monitoring.

Are there any additional fees?

No! We ship Aillio roasters directly from our premises in the UK, so there are no customs, duty, or handling fees. Shipping and VAT are already included in the price shown, meaning there are no hidden charges or unexpected costs.

What size coffee roaster do I need?

The size of the coffee roaster you need depends on how much coffee you plan to roast and how often:

  • For personal use or experimentation: A smaller roaster, like the Kaffelogic Nano 7 (40g-120g capacity), is ideal. It’s perfect for testing different beans, creating unique roast profiles, and keeping your coffee fresh by roasting in smaller batches.

  • For small businesses or larger production needs: The Aillio Bullet R1 (up to 1kg capacity) is a better fit. It allows for efficient roasting at scale while still offering flexibility for smaller experimental batches.

A general rule: calculate your weekly coffee consumption, divide by 4, and choose a roaster with a similar batch capacity. Smaller batches allow for more frequent roasts and better freshness, while larger capacities save time if you need to roast in bulk.

What is a 'roast profile'?

A roast profile is a set of instructions that guides the roaster on how to roast coffee to perfection. It includes details like a time-temperature curve, a time-fan speed curve, and other key settings that ensure the coffee is roasted under optimal conditions. This not only enhances flavour but also allows for consistent, repeatable results.

The Kaffelogic Nano 7 comes with a default profile built-in, but you can easily create, save, and load additional profiles using a USB memory stick to suit your specific preferences.
