Only then did they move out into the sun, spread across raised beds for 3-4 weeks of slow, careful drying - the kind of process that rewards patience with a genuinely standout cup.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eBehind this lot is Migoti Coffee, founded in 2015 by engineers Pontien Ntunzwenimana and Dan Brose with a bold ambition: rebuild Burundi's coffee economy from the ground up. That's no small task in a country whose coffee sector was devastated by a 12-year civil war and the political crisis that followed in 2015 - but what Migoti has achieved since is genuinely remarkable. From just 310 farmers in 2019, their network has grown to over 1,200 today. They're distributing 30,000 seedlings a year, building water reservoirs that will bring clean drinking water to nearly 5,000 people, and helping farmers diversify into essential oils to smooth out income between harvests.
