Producers receive a first payment upon delivery of parchment, followed by a second payment on export, providing a reliable and secure income for their harvest. Ethyl acetate, an organically occurring compound and by-product of fruit fermentation, is used as the solvent. The plant we work with in Colombia sources water from the Nevado del Ruiz volcano and ethyl acetate derived from fermented sugarcane grown in the Palmira region.
